Most Frequent Questions
FAQs - Germantown Soccer Club - May 2025
What will the name be for our Club?
We will always remain Germantown Soccer Club at our core, but we will be playing under the “North Shore United – GSC” brand starting with the 2025/2026 season.
What if I have already registered for SC Wave Germantown for the 2025/2026 season or tryouts?
Please send us an email at info@germantownsoccer.org and we will work through this with you.

Why have the 2025/2026 fees changed?
GSC is proud of how we have kept our fee structure affordable over the years while providing more value for the money. However, after careful deliberation, the Board decided to increase fees for the upcoming season. Every single one of our costs has increased as we’ve grown over the years. We overwhelmingly hear that families have a thirst for more for their kids. GSC has been providing more paid coaches, increased field time, additional winter training, improved fields, and higher-level leagues. You will continue to see GSC investing in a better product for you and your family. We understand that a cost increase can be challenging; however, we are confident that you will still find GSC to be the best value for your money in the area.
How does this announcement affect the rest of the Spring Season?
Nothing changes for the Spring season, and we will complete the season playing as SC Wave.

How does this announcement affect tryouts?
Tryouts will still be held at Friedenfeld on June 3-4 as scheduled initially for U11-U19. There is no cost for tryouts this season. You can register here: NSU-Germantown Tryouts Link: PlayMetrics
Why did GSC select North Shore United?
Many reasons led us to NSU and you will start to experience them right away in the coming months. Our two organizations have a lot of synergies in how we are set up, how we got here and what motivates us as a community-focused organization, which includes player development and family. GSC and NSU are both not-for-profit and are aligned in our short- and long-term goals for our players.
Does this change impact the upcoming SC Wave Camp from June 16 -20?
GSC has no role in SC Wave camps, except to allow them to use our fields. Please get in touch with SC Wave directly with any questions.
Why did GSC decide to leave SC Wave?
When we joined SC Wave several years ago, we intended to be in a long-term partnership; however, at the end of the day, we owe our families and community partners the best possible experience that matches our culture and desire to keep the Germantown Soccer Club in our Community for the next 30 years. We wish our friends at SC Wave the very best moving forward.
Who is WYSA, and why does GSC need to be affiliated with a WYSA-sanctioned club?
WYSA (Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association) is the governing body for youth soccer in the State of Wisconsin. They sanction many of the leagues and tournaments that are hosted every year. To participate in any WYSA-sanctioned activity, we must be aligned with an appropriate club.
Will the current GSC Board still run the club?
Yes. The current 14-member volunteer board will continue to run the Club.
Can I still wear my GSC branded clothing?
Yes! We are proud of Germantown Soccer Club and we encourage all families to continue to wear your GSC gear. We also encourage families to purchase and wear North Shore United branded clothing as well!
What uniforms will my child wear?
All GSC players will be wearing North Shore United branded uniforms. NSU is partnered with SoccerPost and Nike (through Stefan's Soccer) for uniforms. New uniforms will be required every other year, which is a welcome change for GSC. There will be further information coming relating to cost and exact uniforms for this upcoming season as this will be year 2 in their cycle.
Why can’t you announce all the information at this time?
Several factors affect the timeline, and we want to ensure that we do it right. In addition to this being a complex process, we are also following the WYSA Guidelines.
Where will we play games and practice?
We will continue to utilize all our fantastic Germantown and Washington County facilities, with Friedenfeld remaining our home base for games.

Who will coach my son/daughter next season?
Nothing is changing in coaching assignments as a direct result of this announcement. Further details will be provided regarding teams and coaching assignments.
