F.A.Q. For U7 –U14 Recreational Soccer.
Where / when can I register my child?
Registration is done online at www.mksc.org there will be a link to the registration area. Priority registration for the soccer year starts May 1st each year, registration at this time is for the soccer year which begins in Sept and goes thru till June and encompasses 16 league games in total.
What’s included in my registration?
ALL FEES INCLUDE: Individual uniform*, team ball, team medical bag, individual USYSA/WYSA registration, secondary medical insurance, continuing education clinics for team coach, player clinics, indoor league priority placement at Uihlein Soccer Park, free U7-U10 Kicknic, and Fall 9th game played indoors and general administrative expenses.
*Not included for select players or U15 and above players.
What is the refund policy?
Refund Criteria (must request by September 1):
-The player moves out of the region
-The player is not able to be placed on a team
-The player is injured or has an illness that prevents them from playing.
What to wear?
Your child will receive a uniform consisting of a shirt, shorts and socks. The uniform will be distributed to the players through the team's coach and/or manager. Parents will need to provide the children with shin guards, and a soccer ball. Soccer shoes are recommended, but are not mandatory.
Can my child play on a team of my choosing?
The earlier you register the better chance you have of your child being placed on a team with their friends. We try to accommodate requests but once the roster is full and has been finalized it may not be possible to change.
Where do the games take place?
All Home games are played at Friedenfeld Park, which is located on Country Aire Drive just north of Mequon. All away games are played in the Metro Milwaukee area, Whitefish Bay , Brown deer, Shorewood and other regions. A full list can be found on the kickers website above.
Where and how often do teams practice?
Teams practice at Homestead Hollow on Friestadt Road and at other local community schools and parks. Coaches pick the practice day, time and location based on availability. We try to have all our recreational teams practice twice weekly when possible.
How much playing time will my child get?
According to Kickers playing time policy all players should play 50% of each game, this is based on participation and attendance (see playing time policy rule in the a Parent guide book).
What happens if my child has a conflict with a practice or a game?
You should address all issues regarding practice and game absences with your child’s coach. It is common courtesy to notify your coach if you will miss a practice or game.
How can I become a Coach?
If you are interested in coaching, please contact the Director of Coaching or any board member. You will be subject to a background check and will need to complete a licensing course through the Milwaukee Kickers. You will also receive an age level curriculum and coaches guidebook to help you.
What are the volunteer requirements?
There is a mandatory volunteer buyout fee of $50 per player which is refunded after the completion of volunteer requirements*
We are a volunteer run organization and we DO NEED your help.
We ask that you volunteer at for at least 5 hours for the soccer year which includes Fall and Spring seasons. There are many different opportunities to volunteer, a full list can be found in our *Jobs / Volunteer section on our website. Please contact any current board member for further details.
